Dana Gas is the 100% operator of the Sharjah Western Offshore Concession. The Zora Field is located in the concession, which straddles the offshore waters of the Emirates of Sharjah and Ajman, now being developed to supply gas to Sharjah Government power stations. The Zora Project consists of two wells, which were drilled in 1999 and 2002. One well has been re-entered and brought on line with an unmanned platform installed in 24 m of water. This is connected by a 35 km, 12 inch pipeline to an onshore gas processing facility in the Hamriyah Free Zone for processing 40 mmscfd of gas, along with some hydrocarbon condensate.

Project startup was achieved on 14 January 2016 with early gas supplies being intermittent as the gas plant was being fully commissioned. Continuous sales gas production commenced on 28th February 2016 after being delayed due to, urgent maintenance work on gas supply infrastructure at the customer’s receiving facilities.
