Corporate social responsibility (CSR)

For Dana Gas CSR is about directly contributing to economic and social development in a way that safeguards natural resources and the environment whilst respecting the rights of each individual.

We are focused on delivering superior and sustainable long-term value to all stakeholders, while making a positive contribution to the communities in which we operate. Aiming for global best practice in CSR, (as in Corporate Governance, Health, Safety and Environmental management) we aim to provide economic and social benefits to the communities in which we operate, particularly in the UAE, Egypt and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Our contributions are typically focused on the environment, education, sports, health and sustainable community business.

In Egypt we have sponsored environmental discussions and awareness. To improve educational levels, we sponsor a chair in Chemical Engineering at the American University of Sharjah. In the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, we have provided educational stationary and school bags to three primary schools in our area of operation. We also sponsor sports events in Sharjah, subsidize health centres in a number of areas, and support NGOs developing sustainable business practices in villages in Egypt. While individual programs come and go, Dana Gas’ CSR activities are making a real difference.
